Arona is a production created by Compañía Pieles for the Auditorio Infanta Leonor in Los Cristianos. The company has spent more than ten years researching Canarian folklore and has performed over 300 shows on and off the islands, including several residencies at the Jameos del Agua in Lanzarote.
The show walks through life in the fields, at sea and at home through music: the land, the salt, the work chants and the oral tradition become a stage ritual in which ordinary tools are played as instruments. With no spoken text, it works the same for a Canarian in the audience as for a German or Italian visitor.
Performances are on Wednesdays at 20:30, with doors opening at 19:30. The venue is in Los Cristianos, minutes from the southern resort areas.
