If you've been researching things to do in south Tenerife, you've probably come across the Cave of Love (Cueva del Amor): a hidden sea cave in the cliffs along the coast between Los Cristianos and Palm-Mar. It's one of those spots that doesn't appear on the usual tourist map — which is exactly why it has become a favourite stop on boat and kayak trips.
It's a cave that opens straight onto the sea at the base of the island's southern cliffs. You can only reach it from the water — there's no path or land access, and that's precisely what keeps it so special. The water around it is calm and crystal-clear, perfect for a swim or some snorkelling along the volcanic coastline.
The most comfortable option is the whale watching trip from Los Cristianos: you cruise along the Tenerife coast looking for pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins and turtles, sail past the famous Cave of Love, and stop for a swim or snorkel before returning to port. It all happens aboard the Travelin Lady, an eco-yacht built with low sides close to the waterline (designed so you can watch the marine mammals from sea level) and awarded the local government's Blue Boat flag for safe, sustainable operation.

It's easy to find: stand behind the large green fence and follow the blue line painted on the ground until you reach Excursion Area A. The boat is the Travelin Lady, and if you have any questions, kiosk number 1 by the port (the team in red polos) is the activity's information point. Arrive 20 minutes before departure; the boarding gate closes 5 minutes before.
Can you walk to the Cave of Love? No. It's a sea cave at the base of the cliffs and can only be reached by boat or kayak.
