Head up from southern Tenerife on a scenic drive through Vilaflor, the highest village in Spain, surrounded by Canary pine forests, on the way to Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cross the volcanic formations of Las Cañadas, a moon-like landscape that has served as the backdrop for films such as Planet of the Apes, with Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak, dominating the horizon.
Continue to Icod de los Vinos, home to the thousand-year-old Drago tree, one of the oldest and most emblematic trees in the Canary Islands, with free time to stroll and have lunch on your own (meal not included). The route continues to Garachico, the seaside town rebuilt after the 1706 volcanic eruption, famous for its natural volcanic rock pools.
The day ends with a visit to the picturesque mountain village of Masca, a former pirate refuge tucked between ravines, with unforgettable views over the Teno massif. The whole tour takes place in an air-conditioned vehicle with a live guide and includes pick-up from hotels in the south of the island.
